Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram – all have become valuable tools to business owners.  But how much can you control your employee’s social media activity? How do you balance an employee’s privacy rights with your rights as an employer, and what are the pitfalls you need to be aware of when hiring or firing employees in the digital age? Based on experience representing businesses on a range of social media issues, attorney Naomi Dewey will share tools, tips and tricks you need to navigate the minefield of social media use in the workplace.

About the Speaker:

Naomi Dewey Buynak Fauver Archbald & SprayNaomi Dewey is a Partner at Buynak, Fauver, Archbald & Spray, specializing in client-focused business, employment and litigation services.

Naomi’s practice is built on the trusted advisor model, working with clients who demand quality legal service and strategic advice.  A skilled courtroom advocate, she began her legal career defending government entities against employment and personal injury claims and representing contractors and design professionals in multi-party complex construction defect cases. Now, her practice spans both litigation and transactional work, with her experience as a trial attorney bringing a unique perspective to the transactions she handles on a day-to-day basis.

Naomi is a past-president of Santa Barbara County Bar Association and Santa Barbara Women Lawyers.  She served on the Executive Committee of California Women Lawyers for five years, and now serves as Counsel to CWL.   She is a MasterMind for National Association of Women Busines Owners and a Director of Women’s Economic Ventures, a nonprofit organization that empowers women to achieve economic independence through business mentoring, training and coaching.

Naomi received her law degree from Santa Barbara College of Law, and her undergraduate degree from University of Sheffield, England, where she majored in journalism.   She has three daughters.
